great work........Mental Ray is a hard renderer to grasp and it seems as though you have alot of knowledge when using it.

thanks for comments

About this render :
_ I used 11 lights ( 2 mr omni lights , 9 mr spot lights)
_ I rendered at 1200 x 994
_ It took 1h on P4, 2.8GHz , 512 RAM
_ The image above is little bit blurry because it was compressed by photobucket.

That is a great rendering. I am just starting to use MR after using the default scanline on my first project. I work at a local Architecture firm and while the firm uses Form-z for all of their renderings I am working hard on a couple of projects in my own time to showcase the abilities of MAX to get them to switch. I would also love to see your MR settings as I am so new to the renderer and will take all the help I can get on the settings. By the way, I don't know if I mentioned it yet, But:

THAT IS A GREAT RENDERING

they will probably not switch because:
a- they think they know better
b- managment decides instread of the artists who do the work
c- they already invested in formZ

The easy solution is to purchase your own copy of you own copy of Max or Maya or XSI.

Then when you have the opportunity to use it for work, and you prefer the quality over the other solution do a rendering using MR and let them see the difference.
