Default models causing max to crash

    Hi all,

I've been having problems recently with some models, the archmodels from evermotion to be more specific. some of the models make max crash. and im certain its those models because when i delete some of them I finally stop max from crashing. I normaly dont have crashing problems at all but this is irritating me. is there something I can do to fix the mesh and make the model usable?

    im using max 6.

    thanks,

Maybe convert them to editable poly and/or mesh and do a rendertest or export it first as mesh and import them back to be sure you skip any tricky data in the model? I never heard of crashing evermotion models before....

could it be that your scene is very complex? thus crashing max because of the size of the scene? if so then i would try xRefing the models into your scene, display them as Box (under object properties) so it doesnt overwhelm your scene with meshes and is easier to work with

    Hi Jordan.

Im working on 2 different scenes with archmodels, one of them was 12mb. it crashed when I merged some courtains. but thanks for the suggestion. would xrefing work better than freezing/hiding objects???
