Too many verts to export?

Split the curb objects into multiple layers - curb1, curb2, etc. until you get under the 65K limit. You can then group them back together in MAX - not the greatest solution but it's the best I've found.

If the objects are mostly solids with curved faces, you could play with the "facetres" variable which controls the number of faces when exporting to 3ds. This is really only acceptable for middle ground or background elements though. Up close you'll need as many faces as you can get to keep the object smooth.

If the curb object is one big solid, you'll need to break it up into smaller pieces. This limitation has been around for years - I wish Autodesk would tackle this issue, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Hope that helps!

what scott says :)

divide the offending large object into several smaller separate objects then re-assemble them back into 1 object in your desired 3d app.

there is an option in acad where you can change this value, but i cant remember where.
