Default Digital Designers

Inspired by another thread, thought I'd start a new one that focused on just this subject. I'm fascinated and always inspired by the more high end digital design firms out there. There are three that come to mind:

www.dbox.com
dbox
One of the best known, of course. I love how their website is so incredibly obtuse.

www.brooklynfoundry.com
Brooklyn Digital Foundry
The guys that made the presentation for the Museum Plaza project in Louisville, Kentucky. Great stuff. Their 'us' section at their website is brilliant. I'm gonna have to steal that idea for my site......

www.ericschuldenfrei.com
Eric Schuldenfrei
Haven't heard of this guy? You're missing out. He's been everywhere. Done this. Done that. I had the distinct pleasure of briefly working with him when I was an interior architect with SOM here in Chicago. I can only dream that I'll be 1/4 as good as Eric someday.

His website is truly worth checking out. Make sure you visit the Institute of Contemporary Art project in the portfolio section. It's kinda tricky to view the animation. Once you put your cursor over the icon for the project, slide over to the left and press play. This video is amazing. I need to email Eric and get his secret for those shadow people....haha.

Did I mention that he used to be director of animation at dbox?

Does anyone have other folks they admire?

Their work is among the best in the world, but that website is my secret weapon to still have a hope at ever being hired.

Actually, all three websites are obtuse. Simplicity is so last week.

.
Trust me. Your clients and their clients don't run in the same circles. You have nothing to worry about.

That's not very nice.

Actually, dbox and Brooklynfoundry and Eric are all in the NYC market, where I have worked for over 20 years, so you can bet we have clients in common. Now my website is basic as can be, while their's are way-cool yet obtuse. I was saying their work is fantastic, and that's what matters to me. The websites are secondary, unless that is the point--that these guys build or buy the coolest sites.
