Koper Posted March 15, 2006 Author Share Posted March 15, 2006 In your max root folder you wil find your .ini file called 3dsmax.ini. This file is used to save setting such as the unit setup you use and everytime you open up max it loads the .ini setting. I just deleted the 3dsmax.ini file, as Rick reminded me, and opened up max again thus all my settings were lost but max was "usable" again. Max also wrote another .ini file because there was none. One problem I discovered previously was that when pressing the reset button in the file menu the unit setup jumps back to generic units thus you have to change it again or restart max.
