max crashing and long load time

Recommended Posts

I have recently built 2 new render machines(specs below), max takes upto 2 minutes to open, Then works fine when working with smaller files but when working with larger files and performing simple tasks like adding camera's it freezes or crashes and logs the messages listed at the bottom of the page.

I also built a system last year which is a lower spec(see below) but runs perfectly OK with the same version of max and same OS.

have you tried running any other software on the mmachines to see if that crashes too??

how about running a stress testing application (often used on new builds to check system's ok - google it i'm sure you find some out there)

do either of the above should give you an indication if its max or the hardware which is causing the crashes.

alternatively try reinstalling max, may just have been a dodgy install, although strange that its both machines

all the other software runs OK. Unless max is running then it causes autocad to run slowly. I have tried reinstalling max but it doesn't seen to make a difference. Will try the stress test software.

Thanks

Time to bring this thread back to life. Anyone else having this problem? I'm actually glad to see that someone else is having the same EXACT problem that I'm having. It's as if I started this thread. I didn't build my PC, but I'm getting this exact errors in my log and having the same issues and it's driving me nuts.
