I want to improve myself in these modelling way. Here I post some of mine. I used bend-stretch-twist modifiers, what else should I use? That's an interesting way of doing it. I don't know specifically what they're using in Zaha's office, but I can tell you that stuff like this is usually done in NURBs modeling - you could do it in Max, but Rhino and Maya have better tool sets and those are what of these most people are using, in addition to Catia or Microstation for their CAD work. In Max I could see doing it in NURBS or polymodeling.

The NURBS tools in 3ds max aren't very good - I'm being nice. Use Rhino and import it into max to render it. Complex curvature is difficult and time consuming in Max, whereas it's quick and easy in Rhino. Some people really like Maya, but it's very expensive.

Not wanting to contradict anyone but....
Sub D modeling and patch modeling in Max would make it fairly easy to produce those renders. In fact Max's patches can pretty much be used in the same way as Poly modeling, lot of the same functionality is available in both modeling sets. Bri |
