Several times in 3Ds when I have been working in the same file for a long time, zooming with the mouse wheel seems to break down and I can't zoom in and out easily. It will zoom into a certain amount, and then each additional rotation of the wheel barely zooms in any closer. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
Like I said, it only seems to happen once I have been in a file for a long time (unfortunately like this so-called weekend) EDIT - seems also to only be in my perspective viewport Last edited by thickly; August 12th, 2006 at 04:29 PM. |

You can try 1 thing...pan a little before u zoom or just click the pan button which is ur middle mouse button. this trick always works for me.
there is another kind of zooming in 3ds...just select the object or area you want to zoom in then press the 'Z' key on your keyboard. good luck!! |

It's because you're trying to zoom in perspective mode. Perspective mode is like a camera view whose telescopic zoom lens only goes so far. Switch to User view and you won't have that problem. After you establish a decent view you can then switch back to perspective.
