Distributed Bucket Rendering (mental ray)

I am using mental ray's DBR to get a high-res render quickly.

 

I am using 4 identical dual core machines as my slaves and my own dual core.

 

The problem I have is that some of the "buckets" are rendering slightly lighter or darker so that I end up with several little squares that need to be touched up in Photoshop.

 

I have followed all of the recommended settings within 3DS Max's user help, but I must be missing something!

 

Anybody out there have any suggestions?
