“Congratulations”, labeled on top of the mysterious package I’ve received at the front door of my apartment.
“A key, a letter and a photo”, as I looked inside the package slowly and cautiously. Inside it there was photo of a decayed and barren historical looking mansion which may have come from one of my early 1800s Architecture books.
“You have been selected to be the next possible inheritor of Ottoman Castle” it says clearly within the letter. Slowly as I try to grab myself back into reality I continued on reading the rest of the letter, which reveals further more intriguing instructions as well as set of conditions.
“To be the next inheritor you would have to prove to us that you are capable of restoring the mansion back to its natural Romantic glory in its golden days, with its lively picturesque landscape spread across overlooking the Great Blue lake- the perfect mirror for the Great Blue skies”, it claimed as one of the conditions.
“You will have nothing to lose in accepting these challenges, yes there are obstacles but in fact we honestly believe that you will gain more insights and even supports-be it morally and financially”.
“Should you agree to take these challenges, we will cover all the cost of renovations provided that you give us weekly basis updates on the projects”.
Joy and anxious are the two mixed feeling I have strongly at that moment, as I picked up the heavy iron key with my frozen hand.
“What do I have to lose”? I said to myself as I left my apartment for Istanbul.
“Our imagination is the only limit to what we can hope to have in the future”.
