    Default Speed Tree vs Onyx

I have a project were i need alot of palms.. I already had SpeedTree 3 and i just bought Onyx Palm, mainly because of the nice trees i've seen rendered ont this forum..

but i'm somewhat disappointed, it seems Onyx dosen't really have that great of textures or am i jsut doing something wrong?? i dont' have the TreeStorm plugin...does everyone usally just make their own tree textures for Onyx stuff??

    thanks

The Onyx tree plug-in does not generate textures, only texture mapping coordinates. You have to use your own maps for the leaves, trunk, etc.

If you want to keep the palms as onyx object (keeping wind properties etc), you must use the plugin to apply textures. if you dont need to keep onyx properties, convert to editable mesh and texturize. which 3d software are you using?

At onyx tree you need to apply texture to your palms . chose one of Leaf Library and crop it to be 100 % green or edit it by photoshop.
