The maps in my scene render in grey!!!

I am having problems with rendering. The maps in my scene sometimes do not render out and render in grey . I am hoping someone can help me? It is becoming very frustrating and I cant figure it out.

Attached is an example the first jpeg shows the problem the picture has rendered out grey the second jpeg shows the map rendering ok. Sometimes a bit of the map renders then it turns grey!!

Every now and then the scenes render out fine!!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

where are the bitmap files located.... are they local or on a network? if it's a network is your cable loose.... or is the network connected? grey maps normally mean vray was unable to locate the bitmap for some reason or other

MMM...well, this wouldn't account for the fact that it renders out fine every now and then, but do you have your diffuse map turned on? Sometime the check box gets unchecked for me and I don't realize it. You can tell by the diffuse check box under the maps section of the material editor, or a small 'm' instead of a large 'M' next to your diffuse color swatch.

Are you using viz and the 1.47 build of vray?

I am using viz 2007 and 1.47 of vray

There's a known bug with viz and 1.47. Either upgrade to 1.5 or downgrade to 1.46.
