Welding Vertices Issue

For some reason I cannot get two vertices on the same spline to weld. I must be doing something wrong here, or have some setting adjusted incorrectly. I have tried adjusting the threshold but nothing I do seems to work. The vertices are definitely on the same plane and are directly on top of each other but no matter how many times I hit that "Weld" button nothing happens.

 

Please tell me there is something stupid that I am overlooking -- it happens on every file I try to open.

Fuse them first, then weld.

I am having a similar issue with vertices. I have tried to fuse before welding and I still not able to weld. Anymore thoughts?

You can check you don't have two segments overlayed in the same spline.

i have the same problem with poly editing... i just convert it to a mesh and then weld the verts. always seems to work.

I'll see if I have two segments overlapping - good suggestion.

 

I have tried to convert it to editable poly, mesh but the problem is that my lines disappear all together.
