Nvidia Geforce 8800GT + 3ds max = can anyone answer?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I have XFX Geforce 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition - 512 MB RAM.

Very happy with it. Yes, It can handle large polycounts - tested it in Max 9 Trial version. I mainly use SketchUP though.

In Max, do not however expect to have antialiased viewport images - which seem to work only with Maxtreme drivers which cannot be used with Geforce. (It is meant for Quadro FX cards).

Hope this helps

Yes, but not with 100% efficiency - you'd see a speed increase but it wouldn't double. It's still more for gamers than pros.

And don't get hung up on the amount of memory - the high amounts are for the lage amount of textures used in games, it has much less impact on performance in Max.
