I want to render on vray and scene managment (High level gaming) also shall be required but i am not afraid about MBoard and VGA. Just I am trying to concentrate on 1 issue: First CPU is Intel QX6850 minimum price = $769. Second one is Intel Q9550 C2Q price = $622. Third one is Intel QX9650 price = $1060 4th one is E8500 price = $336 The problem is that Q9550 is 12 MB with 1333 FSB and quad core too. On the other hand, QX6850 is 8MB with 1333 FSB. The price of Q9550 is less than QX6850 but specifications are higher than QX6850. What is the reason that prices are low for high performance CPU? Why it is the difference between these CPU's performance actually. E8500 looks good with 6MB with 1333 FSB. What is the hidden truth on which I am confused a bit. Specially the difference between QX6850 and Q9650. I want to buy a new CPU based system but which one should be bought? Because I was using E6750 and Q6700 and the rendering time is approx same for both E6750 and Q6700. Can anyone tell me the difference Please!? First CPU is Intel QX6850 minimum price = $769. older extreme chip Second one is Intel Q9550 C2Q price = $622. new quad core 45nm chip--not out yet Third one is Intel QX9650 price = $1060 newer extreme chip 4th one is E8500 price = $336 new dual core 45nm chips Thats just a very quick nutshell of the chips off the top of my head at 7:45 am. What is your goal of your system would be the place to start. The difference in the QX6850 and the QX9650 is the cache size...the QX6950 has 2x6mb L2 cache while the QX6850 only has 2x4mb L2 cache Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So, the difference is that Core2Quad is Min $350 and Core2Extreme is $1K. And the difference is only 264FSB, while the Cache size is same! I couldnt understand the difference in high price of C2X. If I spend $700 more for the C2Xtreme, will it worth. I tested a simple scene of bathroom interior on Vray. It took 8 Minutes on My Pentium-D 2.8GHz, 4MB Cache, 800 FSB. While it took only 3 min on Q6600. So the difference is 4MB L2Cache and 8MB Cache with 800 and 1066 FSB. I just wana know that if i render it on QX6850, how much time it should take to render while price difference is $700 and the render time should worth for only extra FSB. This means that purchasing Extreme series CPUs is just only wastage of money and not enough performance difference that it should worth.
