Hello guys, I wanted to paint a parking lot texture on a plane for a rendering. My guestion is, how would I go about doing this in photoshop to that my texture matches the plane exactly and the lines are where they are supposed to be ?

First: render the plane alone, with an alpha channel. second: load it in photoshop, and select the alpha channel, copy and paste into a new image. now you have the plane by itself. you need a pretty high resolution if you paint such a mapping.

I think the above will help you. but: think about doing the lines with splines....

One word: DeepPaint 3D!!!!! This app is the by far the best tool for texturing when used with Photoshop and Max/Viz. Also check out it's sister app: Deep UV. Great for unwrapping and packing your UVs. The two apps are well worth the money ($1,400 US for the total package) if you like painting your own textures. The two apps also work with almost all other major 3D apps.

check out their website for more info: www.righthemisphere.com
