morphing wireframe to rendering

I have an animation of 4 houses (just a fly by loop) that my boss wants me morph. He want to start off as the buildings in wireframe, and as it nears the end, to have the skin "melt on"...is there a way to do this, or do I have to composite the two (which I know NOTHING, even less than this, about)

thanks in advance... :D

Render it twice, once fully textured, and one in wire frame, or HLR.

Put them both in AE, play with oppacity over the time bar for the textured one, and add any filter that you want. It might not look professional, since you have no experience with it, but that the only method that I can think of.

Good luck.

THanks nisus, and I am intrigued, but what does that entail (scripting?)....it's still rendering at the moment (applied a visibility curve, and I downloaded the AE demo to composite the two), so I can't check the online manual, and the 3ds max bible IS ALL THE WAY over on the other side of the desk, so you're suggestions would be much appreciated
