splines not extruding right...

I'm having problems getting splines to extrude correctly.

 

I have signage that we have received from one of our clients in an Adobe Illistrator format. Everything pulled into MAX 6 just fine. after rescaling the splines to the size that I needed for the signs, the extrusion factor (even though saying 6") was around 23 feet.

 

All of my units are ok and I have tried scaling the splines in uniform and non uniform manners.

 

Does anyone have any idea on a possible solution??? :???:

Hi,

 

Hmmm. Try using the "Rescale World Units" in the Utilities tab, and scale the objects that way.

 

Also, going to the Hierarchy tab and clicking on "Reset Scale" might make a difference. Then apply the Extrude modifier.

 

That is all I can think of at the moment.

I guess that it is actually just scaling the Z axis as well. Anyone have any other possible solutions?

Cullen,

 

Because of the evaluation flow in the program you should NEVER scale at the object level in max or viz.

 

Try applying an Xform modifier and scaling it before you extrude.
