MAX 5 - Crash!

My MAX 5 crashes very often. Especially after completing a rendering (before saving). Is this a commonly known problem, or is it just my install?

I have the Brazil r/s ver 1.0.0 installed, Swift Flash exporter and also a shockwave exporter.

It takes me quite some time to do the install with all the configurations and plugins over so if you have any suggestions I will be very greatful

Join the club, it's not you, it's max 5. it is THAT unstable!!

Oh noooooooo!!! I get my max5 upgrade in the next few days [img]redface2.gif[/img] Cant have it crashing on me all the time

I know max5 is very memory hungry, could it be a lack of memory that is causing it to crash?

Is this crash happening after you render with Brazil or with the Scanline Renderer?

I'd appreciate information regarding the crashes you're experiencing. This is the only way we can fix bugs and issues with the software.

I just reinstalled MAX 5. This time I was careful to do a rendering of a scene I knew had a high crash-probability (before the re-install) for every plugin i put in.
So far no problems - I have no idea why...

One thing I know is that before the reinstall it helped to move texture bitmaps outside the MAX directories - I know it´s wierd but it helped...

By the way - I like MAX 5! Especially the compatibility features. I was pleasently surprised to find that all my "old" plugins (not many, really) work well in MAX 5.
