Hello

I want to render a big scene with Vray fur making realistic grass.

I have created Vray fur on a plane around 150x150m but i think its never going to finish the job.I am using 3ds max 2009 and Vray 1.6.I am rendering on a Core 2 quad 2.9 with 4 gb ram.

Generally its going to be a landscape with many trees and reflections on water so i dont know if i should use Vray fur for such a big scene.

Maby there something wrong with my settings...

Please any suggestions for realistic grass?

I agree with GI Dude. Unless your actually going to notice it... whats the point?! We use the Vray displacement modifier for creating grass only... and ONLY... if the camera is close enough to actually show it off. Otherwise your just killing you machine and render times for no reason. Most of the times, the client doesn't even notcie it nor do they care unless its upfront and close to really hightlite it. Then again... that's my two cents based on past expeirences.
