Distributed Rendering with Large Files

Hi,

 

I am having problems with DR. Small scenes seem to work but larger dont.

 

I have a scene that contails some grass from Onyx and various reasonably complex profile shapes etc. I have uses Vray proxy to reduce files size but still the Vray message box says "Warning - render host is not responding"

 

I assume that the slave is struggling to get the file from the shared file server, due to traffic speeds etc.

 

Can anybody shed any light on how best to have DR set up or suggest a good book that I can sink into please?
