    Default Asset Tracking not displaing how I want.

    I forget where this setting is every time I go to set up a new computer, and I am hoping maybe someone can help me rember.

    There is a way to change the feedback display in Asset Tracking so that status says ok, missing, or found. This would be displayed instead of Network Path, regardless of whether or not it was on the network.

    Are you using Autodesk Vault?

    Nope.

    Attached is how I had it configured on my last machine. As you can see, even when the file was on the network, it gave me an ok if it was found ok. Now it just says Network path.

    If I remember correctly I had to manually change a setting somewhere, or disable a dll. Something along those lines, but I can't seem to remember.

    I don't think I have Vault installed. I don't think it installs be default with 2010. I will look again though.

    You can definitely do it. I had it configured so it was working, and then I switched machines about two weeks ago, and now I can't seem to remember exactly how I did it. That machine is probably reformatted by now, but I did save a copy of my max directory install, so maybe I will try rooting around some more and see if I can't figure it out.

    All simple-
    type in maxscript listener and evaluate
    Code:
    ATSOps.CheckNetworkPaths = true
    Also on this page you can find utility for working with your assets.

    That worked, brilliant!

    It makes you wonder how many other useful features Autodesk have craftily hidden in esoteric maxscript commands. Maybe there's a script to make MR render twice as fast?

    Awesome. Thanks you much. I can be twice as productive again in checking to make sure assets are where they are supposed to be.

    I just bought a copy of FilePathFinder Pro also.
