Default Translating Object Error

I'm currently trying to send to render and have it ready next day. However, I've been struggling for the past 3 hours trying to solve an issue where my rendering is stuck at "Translating Object Box145" which is an object which has been xref'd. This Xref'd scene is one simple object of over 2,000,000 polys and composed of one material. I know the whole scene has rendered in the past, but right now I can't make it render. I had made a couple of changes in terms of removing a few objects off the scene and moving a wall a bit, but the render is still getting stuck at this object. I can render the whole scene without the Xref, but it is almost pointless, to do this... Does anyone have an idea what this even means (translating object?).
Thanks!

Try merging the Xref, and converting it to an editable poly. Then see if it renders.

Thanks Travis ,
I had given up and was trying to render this on 2009 when I had the idea to re-start my computer and render it on 2010, which worked just beautiful, it even did an FG at 3000 (HDTV setting).
Quizzy, sorry that I did not put this on the correct forum, I had gotten somewhat lost and have no idea which would be the correct forum for this.
