Rendered with V-Ray (which I'm new to). The real deal is down the street from my house. I'll probably add a fire engine but I wanted to make sure I got everything else looking good before I tackle that one.

nice start matt. nice modelling in general, although I come with some quick critics:

• too blured to judge mats
  
• vegatation looks very fake
  
• textures make objects to look very "new"

Yeah. I kind of agree with Eric. For Vegetation u can use ForestPackLite plugin or can be done with Post. looking fwd gr8 looking image with fire engine & stuff.

Eric: do you mind elaborating on your comment about vegetation? Are you referring to the grass, the trees, the shrubs, all of the above? Do you have any suggestions as to how I might address the comment?

Obviously not my call, but this scene looks like a good candidate for an hdri lighting setup.

Matt.. this image has good potential. I agree with some of the comments about texture. For example the grass is a tad too bluish and saturated. The metal roofing needs some metal looking highlights. The street is too uniform and dark - add a real street texture on it. The clouds dont look realistic. Are these 3d Clouds? Why dont you just add a real sky for a background. You can find some great ones at cgtextures.com. I think if you add some of these enhancements, you'll have a very nice image
