wanted lighting suggestion reqd..

hi friends.. here i have attached my model...

 

plz suggest me ideal lights (omni, spot).. not vray light (am just started learning)

 

also how can I create cove light on the top false ceiling...

you need to tell us what render engine you're using. but you definitely have to go for photometric lights. there are a lot of tutorials out there.

is going to be slower to put some good scanline settings than learn the basis of Mentalray ( for a learning process i will not buy Vray when you have such an amazing Engine already in max ( Mentalray).

quoted for agreement. the only advantage i can see with vray is the amazing amount of readily available textured models on the net.

We undertstand you're trying to learn but we can't just how to do it.You would not really learn anything and it would not really be your own. Do some tutorials, there are loads online to help you, Then come back and we can really get in to how to improve your images.

 

We have all been new to this at some point, but the ground work really is up to the individual.

You can also read up on the 3ds Help file on Radiosity... it would make your scanline images more realistic.
