I can't control that they are deleted at midnight. This is by design. It only keeps them there for a 24 hour period. However, as Nisus mentions be sure to used the folder colors and check to see if the lightbulb in lit for the forum. Both indicate new posts that you have not read. In a way, what you ask is already there, but be careful to run through all new posts, because the next time you enter the forum, these will not be 'new' anymore.
