    Default menus on socond monitor

    hi,

i've just switched from a dual monitor system to a single monitor system using the same computer (i.e. shut one monitor down). in max, when i use the isolate tool or want to acces the material editor, the dialogs appear on the second monitor (which isn't there). so this means i can't get exit the isolate mode or edit materials because i cannot see these dialogs.

i know there is a way to get these dialogs on my single monitor but can't remember. can anyone help?

    thanks

    hey blaz,

i tried your suggestion, but somehow max seems to think i still have a second monitor. so the menus didn't pop back in view.

i've read a trick to move or access menus which are off screen, a keyboard shortcut or something.

I've had the same problems. It happens with almost every program I use (photoshop, max, etc)... I just kept a small second monitor handy untill I got everything working again. It's kinda a pain, but I can't remember how to fix it for every program.

that's is a videocard problem. what you have? if its a nvidia just get to the toolbox and quit the second monitor from the videocard ( in the software and the output) but if you just want to turn of the monitor because a comprimise with the energy save. just go to the desktop properties and unselect "extend my desktop to this monitor" on the second monitor.

but i never feel tired of use my two 21 inches flatscreen ibm monitors, you dont get blind , just can see thru the walls.
