Pure black shadow with v ray rendering engine

Is there any chance to get pure black shadow with v ray rendering engine. Recently i saw one animation with pure black shadow. The materials used in this is almost all vray materials available in the market. So doubt it is vray render engine. But question arises is it possible to get pure black shadow in v ray? Please make comments

Yep, just turn off GI.

add a shadow pass in your render elements, and overlay it in post to black out the shadows
