Sketchup to Max

I tried to export the model in sketchup and it crashed after a half hour or so. Brad wasn't kidding when he said that the file was big. Even the plug-in for max (which is 32-bit I figure to correlate with skp?) crashed the first 2 times... SketchUp drives me nuts how they still havn't gone 64-bit.

Only way to export a lot fo the models we do in office is to break them up and export peice by peice which is a pain in the arse.

you can also download a demo of Sketchup Pro with 8hrs of use and unlimited saves (exports).

max 2011 has the .skp importer built in as standard so you don't need SketchUP Pro, you can just import the native sketchup file saved with the free version.

i'm guessing your not on 2011 brad?

i know it's been sorted but if you have the problem in the future, then i guess a workaround (assuming your on 2010 max) is:

download Max 2011 trial

import sketchup model

save as max 2010 using the new save as previous version option
