Color between programs ... monitor calibration?

Hi,

When I work with materials and render in Max 2009 - then bring that render into Photoshop CS3 the color is different, significantly. I also have color descrepancies between my 2 monitors. I'm new to digital art. Would someone please be so kind as to explain how to get the color consistent and accurate?

Thanks - I tried a search but I'm struggling with proper keywords for this.

Thanks

You have to color calibrate your monitors using a combination of hardware and software first in order to see correct colors. You also need to look into what your Gamma settings are, 3d Studio could be using a different gamma correction than Photoshop, most of the time a gamma setting of 2.2 on all of your applications is the way to go. If you do these things then you shoulden't have any problems.
