danb4026
I have to create a water feature which will be a waterfall cascading over and around an entry to a night club. The view will be from the outside looking thru the fall and into the lit space beyond. I have always found creating waterfalls to be more trouble than they are worth in Max, at least something that looks realistic and of good quality. Am I better off PS'ing the waterfall in or is there a technique that could give good results in Max? Any advice on techniques, whether it be PS or Max, to create this effect would be really helpful. abmitalia
I'm not an expert in PS ( not even the first in max) but when it comes to emulate nature I would do it like this: w1 - Choose an image you like as a waterfall you want to create w2 - Select the part more intersting for you w3 - make the choosen part negativ and push down the saturation to 0 w4 - resize the image to your need w5 - copy it and creat a new image w6 - Strighten it up w7 - make it negativ again The watermaterial in vray should be with groundcolor '' white '' w6 becomes your 1) bump map 2) Vray material - refraction map 3) trying out even the reflection map w7 becomes your displacment map Well - try it out - RK
