So, I'm wondering if there are any members of any of the organized societies on here and, if so, do you see a need for a central area or do you feel the need is already fulfilled in other avenues?

I am a member of the (British) SAI, I only just came across this forum although I was aware of CGArchitect for some years. There is a public forum on the SAI website http://www.sai.org.uk/forum/ I just think it takes time for people to get to know of things like this.

Tim,
Glad you found this section! We are still figuring out what exactly this section will evolve into based on participation so any suggestions you may have would certainly be appreciated.

Good question, There are probably enough Forums to talk about technicalities and work. I would be interested in getting publications from other societies. It is possible to get the Architecture In Perspective books here but only ones from 10 years ago. The new ones cost a lot of money as the postage is also about $25

Hello Tim,
We are currently working to post PDFs of recent catalogs online at www.asai.org. In fact, the latest & greatest, featuring Hugh Ferris Prize winner Jon Kletzian, in there now. It doesn't compare to the hands on version.
Best,
Scott

Hello Scott,
Thanks for that, I didn't know that was on there, very nice. Steve Oles drawing is just like the ones he used to do years ago - lovely. What about the ASAI magazine is that on there anywhere (I couldn't see it).
Tim

Are you referring to the newsletter - convergance? i think that is a members- only in the email or members area. You should consider joining in as an allied member. Mr. Oles sense of lighting is impeccable isn't it?
Best,
Scott

Yes, the newsletter is available in the members section along with the newsletter archives going back a few issues.

I joined up with ASAI recently.
I'm currently working as an architect (intern) in Kentucky. It's super exciting.
Anyhow - hi![]()

I think membership is $170 which works out at £105 which is a lot of money for a magazine! I am not likely to go to the USA for any reason so wouldn't be able to use any of the other benefits. It does seem a lot for overseas membership, I guess in the past postage costs came into it but nowadays most communication is free.
