Rendering for Revit Architecture 2011

I have seen the fantastic renderings folks have been posting and want to improve my output. I've been rendering with Revit Architecures on board engine and wish now to produce something better. My budget is small in this time of slow construction in my area.
I V-ray Standalone something that would work out of the box with Revit?

From there, i'd say look at 3dsmax and mental ray, that way you wont have to dig too much into the materials at first, the revit mats will translate as is, and the renderer in max is a huge amount faster to produce even the same quality image.

Thanks Dave, 3dmax Design would be my first choice from what i have researched. Its just a little out of my price range for now. I see a version of V-ray called stand alone that i can afford and wondered if that would be of any use.
