    Default Vray "assign material" problem

    Hi guys,

Maybe I was working on my project for too long, but I couldn't
    figure this one out.

I was assigning my vray material to a plane. In this case a grass material.
I added my usual uvw map and vray displacement modifier. But here's the
problem, I only had my plane selected, and when I clicked on assign material
to object selected, it put the material on everything else in my scene. Why?
    What did I do wrong?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

You must have unknowingley selected everything because there's just no way that could have happened any other way.
I make fake things for real people to convince them fake things are real.

Thanks for your quick response. I made sure I only had my plane selected.
However; I had a default gray material on everything, so when I created a grass
material and assigned it, I didn't rename it so that might have been the problem.
There was probably a conflict in materials from what I heard from another source.
I hope that was the problem. I'll have to check when I get home.
