Where should I stay in Vegas?

I'm relying on all you people who've been to Vegas to advise me on where to stay.

 

My Dad is taking me next year for the first time to Vegas and we are trying to decide on where to stay.

 

Which are the best hotels? Is there one hotel that stands out from the rest in terms of quality?

 

I was thinking Mandalay Bay/MGM/Luxor/Caesars Palace?

 

But I think that's just because they are the ones I've heard of before.

 

Anyway, suggestions from you guys are appreciated. Pro's and Con's of each will be good from those with multiple hotel experience.

Caesars Palace is a wonderful place to stay. I had a chance to stay there once and it was unforgettable.

However it's a very expensive hotel so I should wait for your reply concerning the amount of money you can spend on your stay.

Try Palms Place or Cosmopolitan. I've stayed at both, very nice. Palms Place is luxury condos & just a bit off strip, accommodations are fantastic. Cosmo is a little more $ but in the middle of everything. Not sure why my country says China over there on the left but I live in LV.

For anyone still interested we ended up staying at the Four Seasons and it was incredible if not the most expensive hotel i've ever stayed in
