Best way or tools to create 2d floor plans?

heya,

 

I am looking for a some of the best Technic in Photoshop on how to create a 2d layout for my neighbourhood, I have been using paper for a while now but was thinking I want to place it into 3ds max so I can create on top of my floor plan.

What exactly do you mean? You want to do it 2d or 3d?

 

3d Plans is very time consuming, and not worth the money, depending what it is, I find that even doing rooms only 3d plans is so much just for a plan.

I am wanting to do a Floor plan Top down. like a blueprint ect, I usually do it on paper for want to start doing it on my pc instead.

Well, photoshop works well, as well as corel draw. Best is to get a plan done in cad, import it as a pdf to PS or Corel, then start filling the areas like tiles etc with colours and textures. Im sure there are some tutorials on the web for this process.
