Zoom problem :(

hi guys.. I have actually two problems:

1) is there a way to decrease the mouse wheel sensitivity when zooming? it just zooms to much at a little scroll up.

2) As you can see in this picture, the object is cutted after i zoomed either I zoom by the wheel or by the small icon in the bottom right, it happens ( this happens only in perspective view)

can someone help me, please?

use the step zoom on the bottom Rt tool bar you see where you have the play etc it's the second one along from go to end of frame on the RT click that and then move your mouse foward: with attachment image

I'm not sure if this will help go to customize preferences settings viewport mouse controls and under wheel zoom change the increments

ok thanks..the sensitivity problem is solved... what about this problem about cutting the object when i zoom in? does this happen to you?

I can't answer that cutting off because it could be a number of things from out of date VGA drivers the incorrect display drivers in max, try adding a service pack from the autodesk drivers page

Its the viewport clipping plane. Try reseting your fov for that perspective view to 45

I also hold Alt while zooming and it zooms in smaller increments.

Sometimes you just have to refocus the camera by hitting 'z' on the object.

Ctrl+ALT+Middle Mouse will also allow you to zoom in gradually as it is the hotkey command for smooth zooming. Like hitting the magnifying glass with the + and - sign in the bottom right corner.

 

As to the clipping... Underneath where you set your FOV for the perspective viewport (under Configure) is a check box that says "viewport clipping". Make sure this is unchecked.
