Default Moving car in animation with vray

    Hi everyone,
I have a lot houses and trees in my scene and I just need to show one moving car going along a road and stopping near a house. A 30 second animation. Whats the best way to do this in Vray 2.1? I would use pre-calc GI + light cache but it would case flickering I think. I can't use brute force since it will take very long. Aniamtion prepass mode would take ages too. Any way I could just use pre-calc GI and ignore the flaws (if they are ignorable - like to not to noticable)?

Is your camera moving or just your car? If its just your car then shoot a still of the everything else and brute force the car with everything else as a matte. This will speed it up.

Likewise, if your camera and your car are moving, then pre calc the GI and light cache for the background image (houses and plants) and then brute force the car with everything else as a matte.

When you select vray properties, Matte Object, make sure you are also ticking the affect shadows and affect alpha boxes and then set up your car as a multi matte. Doing this will allow you to separate your car from its shadow in post and control how much or how intense it is against your backplate. It will also help clean up any differences between your brute force render and your pre calc gi.

Lastly, I know rendering it twice seems like it will also take time, but this will allow you to color correct your scene while the car renders and then your car is plug and play.

Also, EXR on half float will give you a nice clean alpha for the multi matte.

    Hope this helps.

We use Vray Ambient lights to create animated objects in animated camera animation, still using Light Cache and Irradiance Map, but we exlude the moving object from all GI.

I've never used it before but I believe that's what VRay sphere fade is for. You render your general scene without the moving object then render your moving object with a VRay sphere fade and comp the two together in post. Like I said, I never used it before bu that's my understanding of the workflow.
