Default GT 555M laptop card with max 2010 - uber slow?

I have the Nvidia GT 555m with my dell laptop. It's a windows 7 64bit quadcore with 8gb ram. And in a scene of a bout 500 polygons is giving me about 4fps.

This goes up to 12-14 when I ask it to use DX10, but when I do I get a ton of flickering.

Getting a little tired of this now, does anyone know of a solution? Simple or drastic?

(yes optimus is set up correctly).

Maybe loaded with bloatware. Check how many processes are running in your task manager.
