    Hi guys, sorry I couldnt get you an earlier response. I posted one yeterday but it needed moderator approval for it. So sorry for the double post. Anyways, my scene has evermotion trees, plants and cars. There is about 50 trees/ plants and 3 cars. They are all vray proxies and all instanced. I turned down the following settings on the models/ model materials:

    •Turned off calculate gi on the vray proxy models
    •Turned down refl sub to 8
    •Turned down refract sub to 8
    •Opacity map - filtering - none

    @Devin Johnston

    The only reflective surfaces is the glass on the scene and there are 2 lights on the scene. One Vray Light and one Vray Sun.

    @Scott Schroeder

    Ive rendered the scene in an all white Vray material, and I got a render time a fraction of what it is now. All the geometry is near 0,0,0. I model everything in Revit then link my revit file to 3ds max.

    Honestly I think the culprit is the evermotion models, materials. I still need to get the settings right.

    @M Valero

    Yeah I know the rendering time is absurd. Ive been trying for the last 2 weeks to get the rendering settings right but I need a final copy by next week. Again this is the first time Ive used Vray. The best way to learn a new software is head on.

    @Corey Beaulieu

    I attached a screenshot below. Its rendering. Ill try your settings out. Thanks!

    @Hao La

    Yes all my vray proxies are instanced

    @jason addy

    LOL

    Do you have opacity filtering disabled in the tree leaves? It should be checked "None" instead of summed area or pyramidal. Opacity filtering absolutely kills Vray rendering with trees.

    I know you said you did, but make sure it actually is. Also, make sure that you are not using any sort of translucency either. Many times Evermotion trees come with it on, and while it looks good, it is a time killer. Vray 2sided materials are better to fake translucency.

    If you get a fraction of render time with a gray override, then it is more than likely a material issue. Re-Check all of your mats again to ensure you don't have any wild mat with high subdivs, opacity filtering, or translucency.

    Yeah Scott is right.If you can render fine with override material then it must material but it could be displacement as well.The screenshot of yours showing "presampling displacement".If you're rendering a 4500px width with displacement ON and without calculating IR & LC then render time will be high.

    How many lights are you using? Better to check your lights settings...
