    Default Aerial Imagery

I know there are a bunch of free and paid sourse for aerial imagery, but what have people used in the past that thay have add good results with. For use either in MAX or post work in Photoshop. All I've ever used in the free Google or Bing, then taken to photoshop to piece together as needed.

Depending on how close you are to the people, this approach can work surprisingly well! http://vyonyx.com/tutorial01-creatin...-in-photoshop/

I have used downloads from Google Earth to piece together a large area. In the final view, use soft center focus or vignetting to blend it in.

I know there is a pro version of Google Earth where you can specify a high resolution image (maybe $500 year for Pro?)

Our GIS department has access to orthoimagery of the entire state which makes my site work a lot easier. It fits the cad data without any guessing at scale that I have to do with stitched Google / Bing maps. It's 6" per pixel in resolution which is great for medium - long range views. The only downside is that it's from 2008 so it's starting to get a little dated, but luckily it hasn't been an issue in too many of my projects yet.

I just read about an Autodesk Labs project called Basejump which integrates Bing imagery into Map 3D and Civil 3D. I don't know anything about it, but from the quick video it looks like it might be another way to get aerials into Max.

    Hello Friends,

Aerial photography is the taking of photographs of the ground from an elevated position. The term usually refers to images in which the camera is not supported by a ground-based structure. Cameras may be hand held or mounted, and photographs may be taken by a photographer, triggered remotely or triggered automatically. Platforms for aerial photography include fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, balloons, blimps and dirigibles, rockets, kites, poles, parachutes, and vehicle mounted poles. Aerial photography should not be confused with Air-to-Air Photography, when aircraft serve both as a photo platform and subject.

    Best Regards
