Hi , I m new to 3ds max and 3d modelling also, I model buildings in this method:

1. Create centre lines of all walls. in Autocad

2.Import the drawing to 3ds max.

detach the spilines in segment sub object level.

3. Loft the walls .

4.attach all walls into one object.

5.create window n door gaps using box. and then boolen

6.apply materials and render.

this one is right method for architecture renderings?

That's a method, but I think you are doing way too much work.

Just draw the lines for your walls in Max and the use and extrude modifier and hen a shell modifier. This will give you control over your height abnd thickness, just make sure to tick the straighten corners option on the shell modifier. Lastly, you can use an edit poly to model doors and windows or simply leave these sections out of the walls all together (leave a gap) and then use boxes or other splines to fill in the top and bottom.
