Hello, I would like share with you some studies I made in order to improve my understanding of shaders, especially how the shape and brightness of a specular highlight defines a particular material. I downloaded the mat scene from bertrand-benoit.com and attempted to recreate real world materials to the best of my knowledge. I'm interested in any feedback or crits in order to determine whether I'm headed in the right direction. I'm currently trying dust and smudges, Ill upload those results soon. Again thanks for viewing and I eagerly await your response

They look fine. Your blue plastic is a bit too reflective i feel but, overall, nice job duplicating worn surfaces. In my experience, however, clients never want to see their products/buildings in a 'used' state. They much prefer the shiny brand new off-the-showroom-floor look. Architects and designers don't want 'real'. they want what exists in their head - perfection.
