BEST way to export from Rhino to 3DS Max

Guest dialog

Looking for the BEST way to export from Rhino to 3DS Max and what steps are needed in each software. Seems to be a lot of different opinions out there.

Export .SAT for the object with surfaces and then DWG for the line information. If you have overly curved objects, you should re-mesh them to a high number of polys in Rhino and then export.

 

The import side is super straight forward. Just import it.

This script needs to be edited for .sat but it helps to export by layer and SAT maintains layer names. You can also add all layer files in the import dialogue.
