GTX 780 EVGA 6gig video card - RT issue maybe? with vray

Hi

I have recently acquired this beast and im using if for 3ds 2015 and vray 3.00.07 - when using vray rt and activating active shade, i change the engine type to cuda (single kernel) and when the active shade appears, the whole PC completely slows down - almost un-usable (32 gig of ram and i7 4930). Which i think is weird as i would have thought it was using the GPU and not the CPU?

thoughts?

I remember Dimitris once had I nice thought about a hybrid setup of a Quadro and a GTX.

Since you don't need SLI in order to work with RT, it should not be an issue.

Thanks for the info guys. Im going to be doing as Eli said and use my quadro also. Any ideas what graphics card i should use for my render node? Obviously doesnt need to be anything flash.

Also, not sure if anyone else has gtx780 6gig (evga). But when using it with 3ds 2015 and forest pack, im finding that when I have a couple of copies of forest pack elements, it sloes the viewport down quiet a lot. My old quadro never had that issue
