Is there a clever way to do this....

I've been dumb enough to suggest to a client that we can project their logo onto a curtain.

Now I have to represent that in my visual. Other than trying to actually do this with a light and Gobo type thing (Which I think is probably a bad idea) can anybody suggest a tricky way of achieving this, perhaps with a shader?

I don't even know how to map it - with the curtains concertina'd and rolling along one plane and the logo stretching and contracting along that.

I can guess there would be a big falloff etc. required but really don't have a great idea how to attack this and haven't a lot of time to experiment.

Right about now I'm wishing I'd kept my mouth shut! Any suggestions....

Standard target spotlight using projector map will work fine, I use it a lot. Change to rectangular and use bitmap fit to get ratio from image. You can adjust your beam settings to get a nice falloff on the edges too.

Of course you can use UnwrapUVW modifier on your curtain to flatten out folds for texture mapping, but the projector route will be most realistic.
