V-Ray incremental add to map from file - possible?

Hi All

Does anyone know if it's possible to load an irradiance map from file, and use it to render another static camera in the same scene?

It's taken many many hours to render and save the irradiance for one camera, and I'd really like to make use of it to render another camera in the same room. I know it's possible using 'Incremental add to current map', but as I rendered the first map using the command line I only have the map as a file, and not in memory..

Open to any ideas/workaround!

Yes, of course you can, just use the 'from file' option. However there may be areas not covered by the original irradiance map due to different camera position. If you try rendering a small region using the file, that should be enough to load it into memory. You should then be able to use 'add to current map' to add the missing info on top of your existing lighting data.

It only includes what is seen from camera, correct. But if a lot of that area is also seen from 2nd camera then it could save time to add to original. If you've ever used the free irradiance map viewer that installs with vray you get a good visual representation of what's there in the file.
