Vray sun direction different to shadows cast

Hi all.

New member on here despite being a long time lurker.

Bit of a strange one, but probably really simple to sort.

I have my Vray sun set where i want it and the target likewise, yet the shadows being cast do not reflect this and no matter where i place the sun, the shadow does not change.

The only other scene lighting i have is a dome light.

I have included an image to show what i mean.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

I ca see from your irradiance map pass that there is 2 light sources in your scene, you have an V Ray sun and a dome light with an HDRI on it??

if so and your HDRI is good it will create solid shadows, if so you need to align you V Ray sun with the sun within your HDRI.

Search on google for V Ray sun + HDRI you find several tutorial explaining how to do this.

Hi Francisco.

I do have a HDRI. I have two different models in the scene and i had set the HDRI to suit the other model. Totally forgot that the 'light' area would need to be re positioned to fall in line with the altered sun position. I turned the HDRI off as a test and the shadows disappeared so your theory was spot on - Thank you.
