First benchmarks for Broadwell-Es (ES chips)

Recommended Posts

These results come from hwbot.org (user slinky-pc) and the cpu is a Xeon 2696 v4 (Engineering Sample, 22c/44t) with a max frequency of 2.9GHz.

Here are some 6950X tests too from http://www.overclock.net/t/1599263/6950x-benchmarked.

1700cb at stock speeds (165cb single core),

1900 cb at 4.0GHz and

~2300cb at ~4.4GHz

Quite impressive. I guess that with a mild oc like 4.1-4.2 a 2000cb score would be achievable. Temps at 4.4 seem too hot for 24/7 use (with a Corsair H105 for this specific test bench).

Yes i've seen this too. Quite disappointing IMO, especially the lower IPC and the cache overclocking. The voltage and temp for 4.5GHz is  . But I think we'll have to wait for the retail chips and maybe then some months until we see some better chips as it was with Haswell-E ...and maybe wait for tests with some real water cooling.

But even then i don't know if i would buy it at a price of ~1500€.
