Vray bump map render

The problem is simple really, you need to find the right scale, you could use displacement or bump, but if your scale is not correct, then it won't render.

 

How did you modeled that water?? REVIT? Sketchup or inside Max?

Just apply a reset xform, the collapse, add some subdivisions to that plane, put the noise map in the bump channel and be sure that the texture visible in the viewport and adjust until you can see it.

Then render and check the scale.

for stronger effect you may want to increase the contrast between white and black. Change the Noise threshold to 0.7 to high and 0.4 to low

You could always paint some B/W map in photoshop and use it as displacement map too. but again you need to be sue that you have a correct UVWmap and a correct scale.

You could also put a plane with lots of subdivisions and apply a ripple modifier, with noise modifier.
